Discarded Christmas trees must be clean of all decorations, lights, stands, tinsel, garland, wire, plastic bags, etc. Discarded Christmas trees are chipped by the Village and recycled as mulch and/or compost. Any type of material or debris other than the tree will damage the equipment in the chipping process.
Christmas wreaths are not eligible for pick up under this program due to the steel frames, wire and other contaminants used in making them. Wreaths must be disposed of along with your regular trash. Waste Management will not pick up discarded Christmas Trees as part of the weekly garbage collection.
