In addition, there are many hands-on activities for the kids like extinguishing a fire, or demonstrating your marksmanship with a fire hose.

While you’re at the Safety Fair, be sure to check out the Menomonee Falls Neighborhood Watch 12th Annual Silent Auction. This is the largest fundraiser the organization holds each year, and the proceeds are used to foster a safe community for all.

Remember National Night Out last month? The more items sold, the more that celebration will grow.

This year the numerous and unusual donated items include Swiss Watches, a quilt by a noted Wisconsin quilter, two complete sets of Lamplighter lamps, candles and fuel. Those are only a few of the items.

There are also many certificates to local eateries and businesses. Among those are a $100 Target gift card, sports tickets and memorabilia, including an autographed Packers football. Packers and Brewers rugs are in the mix also for sports fanatics. The organizers promise us there will be plenty of items for all tastes, and have added several wine baskets to prove it.

Registration and bidding begins at 10 a.m. and closes promptly at 2 p.m. This year the winners can pick their items up after 2 p.m. at the registration table.
