Family Welcomes Community Memorial's First 2013 Baby
Mikayla Rose Peterson was the first baby born at the hospital in 2013. She came more than a week early.
Early by more than a week, Mikayla Rose Peterson was the first baby born at Froedtert Health Community Memorial Hospital in 2013. She arrived at 3:02 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2. Mikayla weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces at birth and measured 20 inches long.
Originally due on January 10, Mikayla had other plans for her parents, Kim and Kevin Peterson of Germantown. Kim knew something was up when her contractions began late in the evening on New Year’s Day. Perhaps late for a New Year’s baby, Mikayla actually arrived ahead of schedule.
When Kim learned that Mikayla was the first baby of the New Year born at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls, she said, “I was surprised, it being January 2 after all.” The birthing center at Community Memorial Hospital recorded 970 births in 2012; Mikayla started the count for 2013.
