Former Menomonee Falls Staffer Convicted of Sex Assault of 16-Year-Old Student

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — A former Menomonee Falls High School reading specialist accused of inappropriate contact with a 16-year-old male student has pleaded "no contest" to three counts of sex assault of a student by school staff.
April Novak had been charged with 12 counts of the same count, but three charges were plead to and the other nine were dismissed, but read into the record. Each felony charge carries a maximum sentence of up to three years behind bars.
According to a FOX 6 report today, when questioned by authorities, Novak explained the inappropriate relationship between she and the 16-year-old student took place “from approximately mid-October of 2015 through roughly the beginning of December 2015.”

Novak said “it was a mutual relationship and indicated they have very strong feelings for each other.”
