Brianna Kolar and Hunter Hickling of Hartland have been friends for more than eleven years. You might even call them best friends. They even live across the street from each other. They do almost everything together.
So it isn’t a big surprise to the people that know them that they both decided to do something else together. What may have been a shock is that they both decided to join the Army. Brianna, an early graduate from Arrowhead High School, and Hunter, a senior at Arrowhead High School, joined the Army together on April 4.

Brianna joined the Army Reserve as a Radio and Communications Security Repairer and Hunter joined the Active Army as a Military Police Officer. While Brianna will return to Wisconsin after her training, Hunter will continue on to his first duty station somewhere in the United States or at one of the many installations across the world. It will end up being the longest they have been apart since they were toddlers.
The pair knows that the distance won’t be a barrier to their friendship. But rather, the Army will just be one more thing that they have in common. Both Brianna and Hunter say the main reason they decided to join the Army was to serve their country.
