Hamilton School District's DECA Experiences National Success

The VBC qualifying rounds are conducted via the internet where participants compete for rankings.

Hamilton High School DECA members Hayden Pauls and Arushi Ranasaria earned 10th place in the 2020 National Virtual Business Accounting Challenge and have qualified to compete in the final round at international competition. This result ranked the team first in the state and second in the central region.

Participants in the DECA Virtual Business Challenge (VBC) operate a web-based business simulation utilizing a competition version of the Virtual Business software. The VBC qualifying rounds are conducted via the internet where participants compete for rankings.

Pauls and Ranasaria participated in three mini-challenges testing their ability to identify three accounting issues within a business. Ranking was based on number of correct answers and length of time to complete the challenge.

The International Career Development Conference is currently scheduled for April 24-27 in Anaheim, Calif.
