Menomonee Falls Police Investigate Rise In Items Stolen From Cars
Police said the thief or thieves target unlocked cars as they move quickly through neighborhoods overnight.
MENOMONEE FALLS, WI — Police in Menomonee Falls are investigating several recent instances of items being stolen from cars overnight.
In a news release on Thursday, police said items like loose change, jewelry, purses and other things of value have been taken from unlocked cars.
Some cars left unlocked with the keys inside have also been reported stolen, police said.

Police said officers are working to identify and arrest the thief or thieves, increase patrols and inform citizens.
Residents are encouraged to do their parts to help cut down on crime by removing valuables from their cars and always keeping cars locked.

Police said outdoor flood lighting is also shown to deter thieves from committing crimes of opportunity.
