Mortgage Assistance Program Opens For Waukesha County Homeowners
The program provides emergency assistance grants to homeowners whose mortgage payments are delinquent as a result of COVID-related job loss.

Waukesha County, in partnership with Housing Resources Inc., is announcing the launch of the Waukesha County Mortgage Assistance Program for homeowners experiencing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This new program provides emergency assistance grants to Waukesha County homeowners whose mortgage payments are delinquent as a result of COVID-related loss or reduction of work hours and wages. Funded by CARES Act aid to Waukesha County and administered by Housing Resources Inc., it provides up to six months of assistance.
“Many Waukesha County homeowners face the prospect of losing their homes through no fault of their own,” states Trena Bond, Housing Resources Inc. director. “This assistance will make a difference in homeowners’ ability to keep the homes they worked to so hard for. We are excited about these funds and we encourage Waukesha County residents to apply.”

Eligibility requirements and application instructions are found at https://hri-wi.org/home-owners/waukesha-county-mortgage-assistance. For more information and application assistance, call the Mortgage Help Line at 262-229-8680. Applications will be accepted until November 19, 2021. Residents of Village of Chenequa, Village of Oconomowoc Lake, and Village of Lac La Belle are not eligible.
