Helen Olson

March 12, 1918 - February 2, 2013

Helen D. (nee Grosch) Olson, entered Eternal Life on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at the age of 94. Beloved wife, married on May 10, 1947, of the late Raymond Olson. Dear mother of Amy Calvillo and loving grandmother of Jonathan Calvillo. Further survived by one sister Amy Belle (the late Charles) Such and sister-in-law Bette (the late William) Grosch, Jr. Also survived by beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, sister Alice (the late Leslie) Lubbert, and sister Gertrude (the late Clifford) Olson.

Helen graduated from Riverside High School and moved to Germantown at the time of her marriage. She loved gardening, bird watching, and swimming at her family's Lake Amy Belle property and loved living on her late husband's country place. Twice a year she spent two months on the Gulf of Mexico in Florida where she was still swimming this past November.

In accordance with Helen’s wishes, private services will be held at a later date. Final rest in Sunnyside Cemetery, Lannon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Menomonee Falls, of which Helen was a member for over 60 years.

The family wishes to express their extreme gratitude to Dr. Merry and Dr. Varona for their wonderful care throughout the time of her last illness. Also, we are grateful to the fifth floor nursing staff at CMH for their caring and conscientious service.
