Obituary: ​Janet A. Enea, 82

She was wonderful at making people feel cherished: a warm smile, great hug and always time to listen.

MENOMONEE FALLS, WI — Janet A. Enea, (Nee Strelka) Found Eternal Peace on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the age of 82. Beloved wife of 60 years to Rocco R. Enea. Wonderful mom of Holli (Robert) Feutz, Daniel (Mary) Enea, and Todd (Lori) Enea. Loving grandmaof Trystin, Taryn, Dominic, Lexi, and Robert Jr. (Kerry). Great-grandma of Ellie and Hannah. Super and “only” sister of Bonnie (Peter) Schardt. Sister-in- law of Richard (Mary Ellen) Enea.

Further survived by cherished nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Sharing her love with family and friends was very important to Janet. Each and every family member knew how strong her love and faith were, and how fortunate they were to be a recipient. She was wonderful at making people feel cherished: a warm smile, great hug and always time to listen. Jan enjoyed her lovely home, traveling, plants, flowers and birds that visited year round.

Janet was the head majorette, baton twirling at St. John’s Cathedral during high school, sometimes twirling with fire! Helping out at her parents’ business, “Edy’s Rec” Polish Falcons tavern, banquet hall and bowling alley, where she grew to love bowling and enjoyed it for many years as a league competitor.

Janet, with her husband Rocco, owned and operated their family waterbed store “Water Works” in Menomonee Falls. She also worked for Kohl’s Department Store in accounting and “of course she was in charge of the sunshine club for the Kohl’s employees.

Saturdays she baked bread that was used for communion at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She organized and was the head of the communion ministry for many years. Volunteerism was in her blood from the beginning — she was a Jaycette for the Menomonee Falls Jaycees organization, always helping with the hot dog booth and other fund raisers.

As the oldest child she was also in charge of the family volunteer events, such as (what has been lovingly named) “sucker” catering, “sucker” moving, cleaning, lawn mowing and so on... whatever needed to be done to help out family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Ethel Strelka of Milwaukee/Random Lake, parents-in-law, Casper and Angeline Enea of Milwaukee, brother- and sister-in- law Casper and Claudia Enea of West Allis, and other relatives.

She was always the ultimate hostess, even in her last days making sure that coffee and treats were being served to those visiting as she spent her last days at home, where she wanted to be...

Visitation Tuesday, May 9 at GOOD SHEPHERD CATHOLIC CHURCH, N88 W17658 Christman Road, Menomonee Falls, from 3:30-5:15 PM. Mass of Christian Burial 5:30 PM.

Private Interment Wednesday, May 10 at St. Mary Cemetery, Random Lake, WI.
