Roberta “Bobbie” Amann-Newman, age 61, passed away unexpectedly on May 21, 2013. Bobbie was born in Madison, Wisconsin. She grew up in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and resided in Upper Arlington, Ohio.
She planned to retire in Napa Valley. She received her Masters in Anthropology from The Ohio State University. She worked as an Orton Gillingham Dyslexic Linguistic Instructor at the Children’s Dyslexia Learning Center, where she taught her passion, reading, to hundreds of children who otherwise would not have been able to read.
Bobbie was a TV storm-chaser whose passions included reading, teaching, family, gardening, knitting, cooking, sunsets, stargazing, and the study of our Culture. She was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Amann, in 2010. She married, Mick, the love of her life, at age 18 and they enjoyed 42 years together.
She is survived by her husband Mick Newman, children, Ryan and Makenzie Newman; parents, Robert and Evelyn (Konlock) Amann; sisters, Jean Amann, Gail (Mike) Corkum, MaryAnn Amann, Amy (Joel) Aiken, and Carrie (Chris) Peoples; Preceded in death by here parents in law, Mike and Clarice Newman. Further survived by her 12 brothers- and sisters-in-law , Jim(Jean), Ken(MaryAnn), Ed(Jan), Patti, Larry(Nancy), Tim(Terri), Russ(Karolyn), Dottie(Mike) Crain, Shelley(Jim) Kohl, Randy(Dana), Gary(Kim) and Julie(Kevin) Scepanski , and her 50+ nieces and nephews.
