Ruby M. Tompkins
July 12, 1927 - August 17, 2012
Ruby M. (nee Perrin) Tompkins, age 85, of Menomonee Falls and formerly St. Germain, Wisconsin, was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband on Friday, August 17, 2012, following a long battle against Alzheimer’s. Eldest daughter of the late George H. and Irene A. Perrin (nee Klug). Cherished wife of the late Don P. Tompkins. Loving and much loved mother of Susan (Ken) Krivichi, Gail (Peter) Garton and Paul Tompkins. Cherished grandma of Rachele and Joseph Krivichi, Daniel (Jenny) Garton, and Jessica Tompkins. Loving great- grandma to Tanner and Spencer Garton. Also survived by her loving sister and best friend Dee (Ted ) Tompkins, and brothers Norman (Ruth) Perrin and Alan (Caryl) Perrin. Loving sister- in-law of the late Hurth (the late Inge) Tompkins, Audrey (Vernon) Knoll, Judie (John) Durr and Kathy Olsen. She will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews and her many friends in Menomonee Falls and St. Germain.
Ruby was a lifelong church member, first at St. Pauls UCC (where she and Don were married) and later at Community UCC, in St. Germain, during their happy retirement years. She was a baker of butter horns and sour cream rolls for every bake sale, a sought after vocal soloist for weddings and funerals, a member of the choir at both churches and a willing volunteer for all Women’s Fellowship activities. After her children were grown, she began taking art classes and became an accomplished Country Painter. Ruby’s artist’s eye was evident in her beautiful home and amazing flower gardens. She could grow a beautiful garden anywhere, including the cold north woods. Her gardens were always a sanctuary of peace and beauty—a gift to be shared with family and friends—and she was happiest digging, planting and encouraging her flowers.
