Police Arrest Fleeing Kohl's Shoplifter

A 24-year-old woman attempted to nab $1,200 in merchandise and make a quick exit.

A shoplifter and her getaway driver were brought to justice Monday outside Kohl's Department Store on Appleton Avenue in Menomonee Falls.

At roughly 2 p.m., a 24-year-old woman stuffed two Kohl's shopping carts full of merchandise from the store. In total, she had $1,266 worth of goods in the two carts.

After filling her carts, the woman placed a call on her cell phone to hop in the getaway vehicle. Her driver pulled up into the fire lane outside the store and waited for the pilferer to hop in. When she exited the store, she jumped in the car.

The driver accelerated through the parking lot in an attempt to flee the scene, but a Menomonee Falls police officer stopped the vehicle before they could exit the property.
