Semi Truck Driver Helps Sheriff Halt Progress of Wrong-Way Highway Drunk Driver
The driver of a semi truck on assisted authorities in slowing the progress of a wrong-way drunk driver before she was eventually arrested.

MENOMONEE FALLS, WI — The driver of a semi truck on assisted authorities in slowing the progress of a wrong-way drunk driver before she was eventually arrested by Milwaukee County Sheriff's deputies.
According to police, on Saturday, April 8, at about 2:50 a.m., Waukesha County dispatch advised of a wrong way driver heading southbound in the northbound lanes of I-41 from the County Line Road.
Menomonee Falls police were attempting to locate and stop the driver. MCSO deputies stopped the driver in Milwaukee County at 3:04 a.m. at W. Burleigh Street. The driver had entered at Highway Q, for a total of 9.8 miles traveled in the wrong direction on the freeway in lanes 1 and 2.

According to reports, McVicker passed two squads that attempted to stop her. Other deputies stopped northbound traffic. The driver was slowed by a semi-driver, and a deputy was able to position his squad to stop her. McVicker was uncooperative, refused to answer questions, and was verbally hostile to the deputies.
According to police, Tamara Marie McVicker, age 29, of Milwaukee, was wanted by the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department for Operating After Revocation/OWI-related. Her license was revoked. She was arrested on suspicion of DUI-2nd, Operating while Revoked/OWI-related; 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety; and cited for Driving Wrong Way on Divided Highway, and Non-registration of Motor Vehicle. If convicted on all charges, she faces up to 11 years, 6 months in prison.
