100% Compliance for Village of Mount Pleasant Tobacco Retailers

WI Wins tobacco retailer compliance checks conducted in partnership with the Village of Mount Pleasant Police Department.

The Wisconsin Wins (WI Wins) program, facilitated locally by the Kenosha, Racine and Walworth Counties (KRW) Tobacco-Free Coalition, utilizes a state-wide, strategic approach to decrease youth access to tobacco products and prevent youth nicotine addiction. These goals are achieved through community partnerships with local law enforcement agencies and businesses, by providing retailer training and

conducting compliance checks. Eleven tobacco retailer compliance checks were conducted on December 10, 2016 in the Village of Mount Pleasant with the assistance of Officer Matt Prochaska and three underage WI Wins youth volunteers. No illegal tobacco sales were made to our youth volunteers who made 11 separate purchase attempts of a pack of Newport cigarettes.

Officer Prochaska and the WI Wins local program facilitator congratulated the employees of the following retailers who asked for and checked the i.d.s of the youth volunteers and denied the tobacco sales.
