2019 Greater Racine Oktoberfest: Your Guide

FRANKSVILLE, WI — A state of Gemutlichkeit returns this weekend with the Second-Annual Oktoberfest of Greater Racine at the Franksville Craft Beer Garden.

The four-day festival is packed with games, live music, beer, food and plenty of fun. The festival runs Thursday, Sept. 26 through Sunday Sept. 29. The beer garden will be featuring more than 24 taps of craft beer with seasonal favorites, as well as several local food trucks throughout the weekend.

The festival is free to attend, and located in the Caledonia-Mount Pleasant Joint Memorial Park at 9614 Northwestern Ave. Festival hours are Thursday 5 p.m .to 10 p.m., Friday 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Thursday’s events kick-o with live music from Milwaukee rock and country artist, Jay Matthes from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m . Jay will take a pause at 6:30 p.m. for the ceremonial opening toast of the festival, in which all are invited to give out a “ziggy zaggy” and “prost!” in celebration.

The Packer game will also be on the big screen at the Beer Garden so that festival goers can have
their live music and their football too. Friday keeps the festival energy going with a Friday Fish Fry in the Beer Garden and authentic concertina music performed live by Dobie the Concertina Man at 5 p.m.

The music tent will be rocking with a high-energy show of rock and pop covers of 76 Juliet from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Brewer Game will be on the big screen under the pavilion starting at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, festival-goers can start the day o early with the Badger game on the big screen at 11 a.m., beer yoga at 11:30 a.m. and free pint glasses for the rest 150 people.

Several local food trucks will be serving up their best eats all day, along with a pig roast. Attendees can also try your hand at stein hoisting competitions as well as Hammerschlagen and yard games. Kids can get a free 9 oz. Sprecher Root Beer from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Local favorite Gary
Wortham performs on the Real Racine Live Music stage from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday’s headlining act under the music tent is local country music favorites, The WhiskeyBelles. with their award-winning show of boot-stomping country covers from 7 p.m .to 10 p.m.

The festival wraps up on Sunday with a day of relaxing and classic beer garden enjoyment with brunch being served up starting at 11 a.m., and a Brewer Watch Party at 2 p.m.
