MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — The weather won.

In a Facebook post, village officials said the 2019 trick or treat has been postponed.

“The Mount Pleasant Police Department and Village officials have been monitoring the developing weather this afternoon. They have decided that Mount Pleasant will be cancelling Trick or Treating for today, Thursday the 31st.

Trick or Treating in Mount Pleasant will take place on Saturday November 2, from 5-7 PM.

Be sure to have an extra safe Halloween this year by remembering these trick-or-treat tips:

  • Young children should always be accompanied by an adult
  • Never trick or treat alone
  • Wait to eat any candy until you get home and can check it over
  • Walk on sidewalks where available
  • Cross the street at corners or in a crosswalk and don't run
  • Carry a flashlight
  • Visit only houses where the lights are on.
