RACINE COUNTY, WI — Animal control officials have rescued a total of 95 cats from a house in Racine County, and are asking for the public's help with dealing with the sizable influx of cats.

Officials with the Wisconsin Humane Society aren't saying where in Racine County the house was located, only that they're inundated with sick cats that have been living in uninhabitable conditions.

"If you believe someone is struggling with animal hoarding, it’s important to reach out to get them support. Many of these cats will need medical treatment and lots of patience as they adjust to this new change in life; if you feel compelled, we’d be so grateful for a donation of any size toward their care," Humane Society officials said in a Facebook post.

According to a Kenosha News report, a Wisconsin Humane Society spokesperson said the cats were, "scared and undersocialized, the cats scrambled into holes in the walls — and even the ceiling. After hours of hard work in grueling conditions, we managed to safely contain dozens of cats. We set traps before we left for the evening, and we brought back even more cats over the weekend. And unfortunately, we discovered some deceased cats and kittens."
