All Target Stores In Wisconsin Will Now Require COVID-19 Masks

Target's announcement comes the same week that Menomonee Falls-based Kohl's Department Stores issued a similar proclamation.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Target has joined the list of retailers that's requiring face masks amid the COVID-19 pandemic in Wisconsin.

Target officials said Thursday that the company will begin enforcing its mask policy starting on Aug. 1.

Target's announcement comes the same week that Menomonee Falls-based Kohl's Department Stores issued a similar proclamation. Walmart, Sam's Club and Best Buy also made announcements this week.

According to a Minneapolis Patch report from earlier Thursday, Target stores will Target stores will provide disposable masks at store entrances to customers who don't have their own. Young children and people with underlying medical conditions will be exempt from the new policy.

Several Wisconsin municipalities, including Dane County, the city of Milwaukee, village of Shorewood and Glendale have already enacted mask requirements amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The University of Wisconsin system and its network of statewide campuses have a similar mask mandate, and several shopping centers have also followed suit with mask requirements of their own.
