Learning the ins and outs of the public relations business can be exciting and challenging. Now, there's a new scholarship and internship program for college students who want to take their first steps toward a great career.
Mueller Communications, Inc. (MCI) today announced it will be presenting a Wisconsin student a scholarship and internship in the name of the late Milwaukee PR legend, Ben Barkin. The 2012 Ben Barkin Scholarship Program will offer a $1,000 scholarship and paid summer internship to a full-time student entering his or her senior year in the fall of 2012.
This scholarship program is designed for students who have demonstrated an interest in learning more about the communications and public relations fields.

During the summer internship, the selected intern will have the opportunity to experience different areas of the firm’s expertise, such as public affairs, media relations, market research, crisis and corporate communications, community relations, business-to-business marketing, and graphic and Web design.
“As a leading Milwaukee public relations firm, we understand how important it is to know and understand the history and traditions that have made Milwaukee a great city in which to live and do business,” said Mueller Communications president and CEO, H. Carl Mueller. “Ben Barkin represents the history of our business, and we are seeking to support a student who shares the same interest and dedication to the ethics and professionalism or public relations.”
