Armed Robbery at Landmark Credit Union, Suspects At Large
Mount Pleasant police are asking for the public's help apprehending the suspects who fled the area as Westridge Elementary was letting out for the day.

Mount Pleasant police are asking for the public's help catching two men who they say robbed the Landmark Credit Union Monday.
According to a press release from MPPD, officers responded to a call at 3:07 p.m. to the credit union at 6219 Washington Avenue. Witnesses told police that two men entered the building and one displayed a silver automatic-type handgun.
The suspects were given an undisclosed amount of money, and they fled on foot, going east toward Emmertsen Road. Police believe they got into a car - make, model and color unknown - and left the area. Officers searched the neighborhood, but were unable to locate the suspects.

Witnesses described the suspects as:
- Male, possibly black
- One suspect is 5'6" - 5'9" with a slim build
- The other suspect is about 6-feet tall with a slim build, wearing black gym shoes with glossy white stripes and black, cotton sweat pants
- Both suspects are believed to be in their late teens to early 20s
- Both suspects were wearing black hoods, masks, pants and gloves
At the time of the robbery, students were being dismissed from Westridge Elementary School so police are hoping someone who was in the vicinity can provide some information.

Mount Pleasant Police Chief Tim Zarzecki said investigators are working with the credit union to secure surveillance video and will check nearby businesses as well.
"We're working with the credit union and checking to see if there were other cameras in the area at the time of the incident," he said. "We're hoping to capture some photos that can help lead us to the perpetrators."
