Advocate Aurora Health honors patients, caregivers and communities affected by COVID-19

Hospitals hosted a moment of silence in addition to illuminating hospitals in blue light each night

Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha joined all other Advocate Aurora Health hospitals to light up blue every evening in May to honor the memory of those lost and to express heartfelt gratitude for all health care heroes during these challenging times.

The blue lights illuminating the exterior symbolizes the strength of our COVID-19 survivors and the love for those lost. It also is a show of heartfelt gratitude to the selflessness and bravery of Advocate Aurora’s health care heroes who are committed to helping patients defeat this deadly virus.

Additionally, all hospitals across Advocate Aurora Health will simultaneously pause at 10 a.m. on the 19th of the month to observe a moment of silence for 19 seconds. That began Tuesday, May 19.

“As we continue to battle COVID-19, we want to pause and recognize the experiences our patients, communities and team members have shared together over the past three months,” said Lisa Just, president of Aurora Medical Center – Kenosha. “These moments of silence are in remembrance of those who lost their lives, those who continue to fight and our dedicated team members who work tirelessly to restore health and wellness.”

WHEN: 8 p.m. nightly through Monday, June 1.

WHERE: All Advocate Aurora Health hospitals across Illinois and Wisconsin.
