American Horror Story: Tate is Baby Daddy!

Six months ago: Mrs. Montgomery is wandering around the house as the Harmons move in, confused about nothing belonging to her. We see hands massage her shoulders as she asks for her baby.

"A baby?" a voice asks. "My baby," she answers.

Cut to hands rummaging through the garbage and pulling out the Rubber Man suit. We see an abbreviated replay of Viv and Rubber Man's sex scene and then ... Rubber Man goes to the bathroom and removes the hood. TATE!

We're still in the past and Chad is shopping for some S & M gear to entice Patrick so Patrick will stop cheating, but it doesn't work. Patrick doesn't like latex, he likes leather.

And Hayden, of all ghosts, is explaining to Mrs. Montgomery how the house works; that they're dead and stuck in the house. Hayden is crazier than crazy, and tries hatching a plan to steal Viv's twins.

The red ball is rolling down the hall so Viv picks it up. And now Hayden is blowing out light bulbs and making stuff crash to the floor. We can hear Hayden laughing while she propels a bureau across the room to crush Viv, but Viv runs to the bathroom and escapes. Is that the hood of the latex suit on the sink? It is.

We see Tate kill Chad and Patrick and tell Mrs. Montgomery a new family will move in and give her the baby she wants.

Violet and Ben have a "session" about Violet not going to school and how Violet blames Ben for driving Viv crazy. So Viv is in the kitchen crying about seeing things and Moira explains how men always manipulate reality to keep women locked up and drive them crazy. Moira explains that the house is possessed and Viv is not crazy, that spirits live there, a lot of spirits. She advises Viv to get out while she still can.

Viv takes Moira at her word and gets Violet up and out even though it's the middle of the night. Tate runs outside, his face quivering. Ghosts of the crazy people who tried to kill Viv and Violet appear in the back seat of the car, sending Viv and Violet running and screaming back into the house.

Ew. Ew. Ew. Tate and Violet are in bed and it looks like they did the deed. Violet tells Tate that she saw the ghosts of the people who tried to kill her and Viv, but he says they can't hurt anyone, they're just trying to scare them. Job well done.

Meanwhile, Viv and Ben are having a drag-out fight in the study about what she sees and doesn't see and what Violet told the police was only what she thought Viv wanted her to say.

Down in the basement, Hayden is telling Tate that he knows what he has to do and he says he's tired of hurting people. Oh, this does not bode well.

Viv in the master bedroom, spooked and checking curtains. She sees Rubber Man (Tate) so she grabs the alarm button, pushes it, and then gets her gun and shoots ... Ben.

Whew. Only a "through-and-through" as Ben tells the EMTs and cops who respond. Yeah, okay. Hayden is in the bedroom, telling Viv that she's dead and wants the babies. Rubber Man Tate is there, too, and Hayden is egging him on.

"You liked it so much the first time, how about round two?" Hayden says as Tate tackles Viv and pins her to the floor.

But it was all a trick to get Viv committed and while she is upset about it all, she is also relieved.

"At least I'll be out of this house," she says before being led away.

Violet blames herself so Ben tries to reassure his daughter, telling her she told the truth. The look on Violet's face is devastating.

Flash quickly to the past. We watch Moira advise Tate on the best way to kill and cover up the murders of Chad and Patrick.

"You need to stop worrying about how to please the women of this house," she says.

"I think I have Mommy issues," Tate says with a half-smile.
