A 24-year-old man who told Mount Pleasant police he's from Mexico and has only been in the country for three months is also a two-time suspected car thief and faces obstruction charges for giving officers a fake name.
Mount Pleasant police say Javier Hernandez told them his name is Paco Guerrero after he first stole a car in Bensenville, IL, then drove it north into Wisconsin, abandoned it, and hopped behind the wheel of a Land Rover.

According to a written release from MPPD, at 12:36 a.m. Friday a man called to report that his 2005 Land Rover had been stolen from the lot at Kwik Trip, 7155 Durand Avenue. Customers followed the truck westbound on Highway 11 and relayed its location to officers.
Kenosha police pulled the vehicle over at Highway 158 and 68th, and Mount Pleasant met them at that location to take the suspect and the vehicle into custody. At the time, police say Hernandez verbally identified himself as Guerrero and said he was from Mexico City and only in the country for about three months.

MPPD took Guerrero's fingerprints and sent them to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for a positive identification. On Monday, it was revealed that Guerrero's real name is Javier Hernandez, 25.
Witnesses back at Kwik Trip told officers that Hernandez had driven another car to the gas station so police checked the plates. Information returned indicated the vehicle had been stolen from Bensenville, IL, at approximately 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
Hernandez was transported to the Racine County Jail, and two charges of operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent are being recommended to the Racine County District Attorney's office. He now also faces charges of obstruction for giving a false name.
MPPD continues to investigate the incident with the Bensenville, IL, police department. Both vehicles have been recovered by Mount Pleasant police.
