Database: How Much Did Your Neighbors Give to Obama, Romney?

Mount Pleasant and Sturtevant voters gave more money to President Barack Obama than presidential candidate Mitt Romney received — however, the dollar amounts don't tell the entire story.

While polls show President Barack Obama may have more support from Wisconsin voters than candidate Mitt Romney, the studies also show the gap getting slightly closer.

A Marquette University poll shows Obama leading Romney, 53 percent to 42 percent, different than the 54 percent to 40 percent lead Obama held in mid-September.

Obama is winning in the polls and in campaign dollars from both Mount Pleasant and Sturtevant, but that doesn't tell the whole story. The Obama campaign collected 61 donations from Mount Pleasant and 20 donations from Sturtevant, some of which are from individuals who wrote more than one check. Most donations are for $100 or less.

Romney's campaign has collected six donations from six different residents of Mount Pleasant and four donations from Sturtevant, all from the same person. 

The highest individual single donation to Obama was $900 from Todd Sorenson, owner of Prime Time Communications, Inc.; the biggest check given to Romney so far was $300 from Bonnie Obernberger, who is listed as retired.

The data, which is from the Federal Elections Commission, does not include contributions to political action committees or other outside groups.
