Ding Dongs, Armed Robbery, Cake Pops, Wind Turbines

It was a holiday week, but the news certainly didn't take a day off. We had plenty of crime stories, a couple of business stories and Heather Geyer's take on the closing of Hostess.

What a week! While most of the area took time out to relax and enjoy giving thanks, the news never took a break.

One of the best stories to come out of this week was the collection for Hurricane Sandy initiated by retired fire fighter Bruce Bowen and his nephew, Adam Peterson. With the help of too many contributors to identify, they stuffed a donated 24' trailer, a big SUV and the bed of a pick-up truck with donations. Then, they drove it all to Toms River, New Jersey to help fellow Americans who were devastated a few weeks ago by that monster storm.

No big surprise that crime dominated the top read stories, but we had a few other topics - Heather Geyer's take on Hostess closing, Dessert Heaven's delicious cake pops, the SC Johnson Wind Turbines getting started - also nudge their way onto the list.
