Driver Injured In Mount Pleasant Crash Involving Semi, Dump Truck
A 65-year-old truck driver was taken to Froedtert Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — A truck driver was taken to Froedtert Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a collision between an 18-wheeler and a dump truck Wednesday morning on Highway 11.
According to the Mount Pleasant Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 11000 block of Durand Avenue for a reported injury involving a semi tractor trailer and a dump truck.
After arriving on scene, emergency personnel discovered severe damage and learned that one of the operators remained trapped inside of his vehicle.

South Shore Fire Department was able to extricate the trapped driver who was transported to the hospital with significant but non-life threatening injuries.
Police said the initial investigation showed that the 2018 Peterbilt was operated by a 65-year-old man from Milwaukee, who was stopped in the right eastbound lands for a possible mechanical problem. The 2007 International operated by a 28-year-old man from Kenosha was traveling eastbound, also in the right lane, and struck the stopped vehicle.

Due to the severity of the accident, police said the eastbound lanes of Durand Avenue were shut down for approximately three hours.
