Santa Claus is coming to town ... on a decked out fire truck!
Come to the Mount Pleasant-Sturtevant Holiday Food Drive to help keep the shelves stocked at the Racine County Food Bank from 7 to 8 pm on Thurs., Dec. 15 at Mount Pleasant Village Hall.
Kids can decorate bio-degradable ornaments for the village's holiday tree, get their faces painted, sip hot chocolate, enjoy other goodies and ... of course a holiday party isn't really a party unless Santa is part of the fun. So we have that jolliest of elves arriving with blaring sirens and flashing lights atop a South Shore fire truck! He'll join in the fun by unloading his pack and handing out treats for the kids.

The food drive is the villages' answer to the Holiday Train not visiting the Sturtevant Amtrak Depot this year. The event was initiated by South Shore Fire Chief William Bouma.
"The Food Bank helps a lot of people and they need help, especially around the holidays," he said.
