Farewell, Mount Pleasant-Sturtevant Patchers
Mount Pleasant-Sturtevant Patch is coming to an end on Oct. 15. What we created together was important and means more than you could ever know.

The launch of Mount Pleasant-Sturtevant Patch almost three years ago was full of anticipation.
It felt so much like coming home after covering the villages for almost ten years for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and I heard from elected officials, village staffers and residents who missed having truly local news and how much they looked forward to having a Patch site in their backyard.
Since then, we've covered a lot of stories about just about everything; crime, politics, government, business, entertainment, breaking news and more. Through it all, you've provided tips, insight, and comments that were thoughtful, thought-provoking, outrageous, and, sometimes, laugh-out-loud funny.
I asked Monday on Facebook for what you liked most about Patch, and you should know how much your responses mean to me. What you said reflects how hard we worked to provide real news you could use in a fair and balanced way that let you decide how you would think and feel about the topic of the story.
This job has been the most fun I've ever had at work, but it is the connections with all of you that made being the editor of Mount Pleasant-Sturtevant Patch so rewarding.
So, thank you, Patchers. It has been my pleasure to work with you and write for you these last almost three years. Please feel free to stay in touch at heather.asiyanbi@gmail.com.
