Handcuffed Boyfriend Needs Police to Set Him Free

A couple has a handcuff malfunction and asks the police to give them a hand.

A relaxing evening over the weekend with handcuffs turned a little humorous for one Sturtevant couple when they couldn't find the key and called police for help.

Officers were called to an apartment shortly after 10 p.m. Friday night for a report that a young woman had handcuffed her boyfriend and couldn't find the key to release him.

When police arrived, the young man in question answered the door with one handcuff around his wrist and the other one dangling free.

"They weren’t standard police issue handcuffs, but they worked nevertheless," the officer told Patch. "I used my key to take the handcuff off ... and let them go back to their quiet evening at home."

The couple seemed to have a good sense of humor about the situation, but the officer left behind a key just in case.
