Crispell-Snyder Inc. designed the new storm water detention facility to address the flooding issues, but also to provide recreational space around the pond, including a pedestrian trail, benches, fish habitat and restored native vegetation—including 140  plantings of 19 native species.

"We are very proud of the work that was done to create both a solution to a storm water issue and a great place for our residents to enjoy. This project was also one of the deciding factors in UNFI choosing Sturtevant for their new facility," stated Chris Wright, chairman of the Storm Water and Waste Water Committee.
