High Speed Chase Nabs $15,000 in Cocaine
Mount Pleasant police went after a speeding driver who tossed a duffle bag full of cocaine out the window.

A high-speed chase Thursday got $15,000 worth of cocaine off the street, but the driver got away.
Mount Pleasant police in a written statement said at 12 p.m. an officer attempted to pull over a driver speeding on Highway 32 around Edgewater Drive. Instead of stopping though, the driver went faster, going south into Kenosha County and then west on Highway A.
During the chase, officers saw the driver toss a duffle bag out of the vehicle. When the bag was recovered, police discovered over 500 grams of cocaine with a street value of over $15,000.

Speeds got up to 100 mph and started to climb higher when MPPD terminated the pursuit.
"When the pursuit becomes more dangerous than the reason for the pursuit, we terminate the pursuit," said MPPD Sgt. Shawn Lueke.

The car that got away was either a blue Nissan Maxima or Altima. Police did not provide a description of the suspect driver.
