Horlick's Milton Drops 53 Points In Victory Over Case: Watch

Horlick's Marquise Milton scored an unheard-of 53 points in the team's win over Case Friday night.

RACINE, WI -- With about two minutes left in Horlick's varsity boys basketball game against Case, Marquise Milton's drive to the basket ended with a pile of bodies on the floor and a roaring crowd.

At that moment of the game, its outcome was no longer seriously in doubt. Horlick led a 92-78 lead and Milton was heading to the free throw line to pad Horlick's lead.

The crowd sensed they were witnessing something special as Milton stepped to the free throw line for two free throws.

All night, the shifty Horlick guard juked, jumped, drove, slashed, and scored over his opponents from Case. He hit open three-pointers, bullied his way to the basket, euro-stepped past defenders, and swished contested jumpers.

His teammates found ways to get him the ball time and time again, zig-zagging the ball across the floor on offense, only to have the ball end up in number 13's hands yet again.

And as the game wore on, and the points piled up, he he started flashing a smile as though he was signaling to his defenders, "here I go again."

As Milton's point total edged closer to 50 late in the second half, the public address announcer wasn't just calling the shots, he was celebrating them: "Do you see that number 13 out there? It looks familiar doesn't it," he said, referring to NBA forward James Harden and his arrhythmic - and impossible-to-defend style of play.

And with two minutes left in the game, Milton stepped to the free throw line - yet again - with the chance to score 50 points in a single game.

He swished his pair of free throws and ended up scoring 53 of the team's 96 points in their victory over case.

"I'm going to remember this until I'm very, very old," Milton said to sportswriter Peter Jackelafter the game. "People are going to be reminding me of it. It's a blessing, man. It's a blessing."
