Hospice House Racine celebrated its grand opening Thursday with an official ribbon cutting and tours of the facility.
Marketing Coordinator Judy Walthers said nearly one third of the families served at the Pleasant Prairie location were from the Racine area so leaders knew there was a need for hospice services here.
"So when the opportunity came to partner with Lincoln Lutheran we knew it was a good time," she said.
Lorna George has relied on Hospice House three times and said she supports them financially because their care and services are unparalleled.
"Everyone is just so wonderful, kind and committed," she said. "Hospice helps reassure you during an overwhelming time that you are doing the right thing. They're so amazing that I am glad to write checks to support them."
George is the executive assistant to Racine County Executive Jim Ladwig.
Hospice House Racine is a branch of Hospice Alliance, a non-profit organization. The Racine area facility is located in the Becker Shoop Campus of Lincoln Lutheran, 6101 16th Street, Mount Pleasant.
