Initial Budget Does Not Include Tax Increase, Talks Continue

A series of budget workshops are planned this week to set the 2021 budget for the Village.

At its first budget workshop to set the budget for 2021, the Village set out goals and plans to fund those ideas.

Among the goals, attracting and retaining business is a key focus. The budget proposed Monday does not include a tax increase to encourage more people and businesses to move to the area.

The budget for 2021 does include funds to develop a civic campus that would include places for the community to gather. Another goal is paying Village employees salaries that are more competitive in an effort to retain staff.

Other key areas of focus include: communication with the community; protecting natural resources; and maintaining services to residents.
