Area youth this summer can learn how to build a resume and make connections between volunteer work and employment during a jobs camp designed for students' future success.
The jobs camp is one of several Service Learning Camps being offered throughout the summer in Racine for students ages 11 to 18, according to a story from The Journal Times.
Camps typically run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and can count for school credit.
All camps are offered by the Volunteer Center of Racine and are sponsored by a grant from SC Johnson.
Other Service Learning Camps include working in the Racine Urban Garden, helping out at River Bend Nature Center, pitching in at the Racine County Food Bank, and spending time with seniors at Ridgewood Care Center.
Most camps have space for up to 20 students. Applications for camps can be found at the Volunteer Center's website, www.volunteercenterofracine.org.
