Man Loses Arm to Wood Splitter Leads Top 10 Stories List

A horrible accident tops this week's list of the most read stories in Mount Pleasant-Sturtevant Patch.

Tuesday morning dawned like any other day for Randy Storbeck, Senior, but it ended with a life-saving helicopter flight to Froedtert Hospital.

Storbeck lost his right arm at the elbow after it was caught in a wood splitter he was using in his Sturtevant back yard. Quick action and some medical know-how by his neighbors saved his life, said his son, Randy, Jr.

His story tops the list of most read stories from Sept. 30 - Oct. 6, 2012. As usual, crime rounds out the majority of the rest of the list, but knowing when the villages are hosting Trick-or-Treat proved important, too:
