RACINE, WI -- The parents of a West Racine girl are asking for the public's help, saying a bike thief walked right up onto their porch to steal their daughter's new bicycle.

Diana Breaux Wade, of Deane Blvd. said her eight-year-old daughter got a new bicycle in September with the intention of riding it this summer.

Diana said her daughter's bicycle was sitting on the porch on the evening of June 17 after she rode it up and down the sidewalk along the 1300 block of Deane Blvd. She had been learning to ride and had ridden on the bike perhaps five times before it was stolen.

"Whoever took it had to walk right next to my front door to get it," Diana said. "You can't see the bike from the sidewalk either, so my guess is someone saw her riding it, and watched for her to hop off."

Diana said her daughter's bicycle is a Mongoose Craze Freestyle BMX bike. It has light blue mag wheels and a black finish. Her bike also had a horn on it, black and silver clamps on the handlebars and had axle pegs on both wheels.

Diana asked that people either contact her via Facebook or contact the Racine Police Department's non-emergency line in the event they see her daughter's missing bike.
