Mount Pleasant Man Gets Prison for Armed Robbery

Calling the crime "planned out," a judge sentenced William Ramsey to 11 1/2 years in prison.

Mount Pleasant resident Willliam C. Ramsey was sentenced to prison Tuesday, for an armed robbery that happened in Racine last spring.

Ramsey was convicted of armed robbery, according to online court records, for an incident last spring where he and two others robbed a woman near the intersection of Rosalind and Hamilton streets in Racine. Police said Ramsey stashed the handgun he used in the crime beneath the car seat of a 1-year-old child who was in the car with them when the robbery was committed.

Saying this was a crime that had been "planned out," Racine County Circuit Court Judge Allan "Pat" Torhorst told Ramsey he was headed to prison for 11-1/2 years, according to The Journal Times.
