Sturtevant is accepting applications for a new crossing guard for the students at Schulte School.
Trustees Tuesday night accepted the resignation from long-time guard Michele Bendix, and are no looking to fill the position.
Bendix is leaving her post because she is moving into a new position at her full-time job and her children will no longer attend Schulte.
The crossing guard helps children safely cross the streets at 86th Street and Westminster Drive both before and/or after school. Those hours are approximately from 7 to 8 a.m. and 2 to 3 p.m. daily. The hourly wage is $11.
Anyone interested in filling out an application should stop by Sturtevant Village Hall, 2801 89th Street, 8 a.m. to noon or 1 to 5 p.m.
