New South Shore Ambulance Hits the Road

The new South Shore ambulance has arrived and is on the road taking calls.

The new South Shore ambulance - Med 9 - is fully outfitted and ready to hit the road so the crew can take calls.

It was parked outside Mount Pleasant Village Hall prior to the Monday board meeting, and drove off with lights flashing about 30 minutes after the meeting got underway.

It's been a long road to get to this point, but Fire Chief Robert Stedman only talked about how good it was to have the rig a part of the fleet.

"It took a while, but it's here and the guys put in a lot of work to make it ready," he said.
