Parents Split In Survey About Students' Mental Health, Education

The goal of the school district's survey was to determine how parents are feeling about remote learning and the next steps.

RACINE COUNTY,WI— Earlier this month the Racine Unified School District sent out surveys to parents. The goal of the survey was to determine how parents are feeling about remote learning and the next steps.

They received 4,662 responses, and the school district released the survey results Thursday.
Of those responses, some 23% of parents said they are not concerned about their child’s academic growth right now, and 22% said they are extremely concerned.
More than a quarter, 26%, said they are not concerned about social-emotional wellbeing for their child. More than 900 parents, 21%, responded that they are extremely concerned.
Most parents responded that they are satisfied with communication from the school district and teachers.
The RUSD Re-Entry Planning Team will use this feedback as we prepare plans moving forward.
