Patch Reader Helps Catch a Suspected Child Molester

A reader stepped up big time and helped police nab a man suspected of molesting a 14-year-old girl in Hudson. That story and more for your week in review.

It was a busy week in Mount Pleasant-Sturtevant Patch, and we know you were busy, too. You might have missed some of the news we covered so here's a list of the top stories of the week:

. Because he kept their chat record where she told him she was 19, he wasn't charged. The girl, Ashley Haigh, however, faces adult felony charges and possibly time in prison.

Former Racine resident James Eckhoff was wanted by Hudson Police for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl in that city. A Patch reader saw our story posted on Racine Uncovered and called police about Eckhoff's potential whereabouts. He is now in custody awaiting transport back to St. Croix County.

Police in Caledonia are asking for the public's help apprehending two purse thieves who managed to use the victim's credit card at several area businesses before the woman could cancel the card.
