Plan Calls For Razing, Re-Building Downtown Racine YMCA

A majority of YMCA board members approved moving forward with the plan, according to reports.

RACINE, WI -- Racine Family YMCA officials say they've committed to a plan to eventually raze the Downtown YMCA to make way for a new development - and the creation of a modern YMCA facility.

According to a Racine Journal Times report, a majority of YMCA board members approved moving forward with the plan during a Wednesday afternoon meeting. A sale price has not been agreed upon, according to the report.

The report stated that West Allis-based Cardinal Capital Management and Kenosha-based LandQuest would purchase the property and develop it, with the YMCA becoming a tenant of the property.
