Police Apprehend Armed Robbery Suspects

Three armed robbery suspects were taken into custody after their intended victim provided detailed descriptions of them to police.

Mount Pleasant police say they have three suspects in custody after a man reported he had been robbed at gunpoint Thursday afternoon.

Officers were called at 1:32 p.m. Thursday to the 2100 block of Howe Street for a report of an attempted armed robbery. When police arrived, a man told them he was approached by three males, and one of them was armed with a gun, according to MPPD Sgt. Shawn Lueke.

The man refused to hand over his belongings and managed to get away without being injured. He told officers the suspects did not fire any shots and provided detailed descriptions of the three men.

"The victim gave officers a detailed description of the three suspects, which led to all three suspects being taken into custody a short time later," Lueke said.
