Police Say 4 Juveniles in Custody for Suspected Burglary

Four boys were taken into custody because police say they were found leaving the area where a burglary was reported.

Mount Pleasant police are questioning four teenagers after residents called dispatch Thursday to report a possible burglary on the village's southeast side.

According to a written statement from MPPD, officers responded at 4:44 p.m. Thursday to the Food Cafe, 2135 Racine Street, for a burglary in progress.

A caller reported seeing four males trying to get into the rear of the store. When police arrived, they found four juveniles leaving the area.

Officers say they took the boys into custody and transported them back to the Mount Pleasant Police Department for questioning.

The incident remains under investigation.
