Police Still Searching for Shooting Suspect

Mount Pleasant police are still looking for the person responsible for shooting a man in the head through his front window on July 2.

Mount Pleasant police are asking for the public's help finding the suspect who shot a man July 3 through his living room window.

While investigators continue to follow leads in the case, a clear suspect has not yet been identified.

MPPD and rescue crews from South Shore Fire were called at 11:57 p.m. July 2 to a home in the 3000 block of Carpenter Avenue for a report of a man shot in the head.

When they arrived, the victim,  was conscious and told them he was sitting on his couch when someone shot at him through his front window. He was transported to Wheaton Franciscan St. Mary's where he was treated and eventually released.

"Investigators are actively following up on leads," said MPPD Sgt. Eric Relich. "At this time, investigators are seeking help from the public."
