RACINE COUNTY, WI — Every year, children dress up as ghosts, goblins and fictional characters in search of candy on Halloween night. And residents are happy to oblige, decorating their homes and yards with scary stuff as they hand out loads of sugary snacks.

The Village of Caledonia has postponed the 2019 Halloween trick-or-treat time and re-scheduled it for Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Be sure to have an extra safe Halloween this year by remembering these trick-or-treat tips:

  • Young children should always be accompanied by an adult
  • Never trick or treat alone
  • Wait to eat any candy until you get home and can check it over
  • Walk on sidewalks where available
  • Cross the street at corners or in a crosswalk and don't run
  • Carry a flashlight
  • Visit only houses where the lights are on.
