Racine County Man Charged With 10 Counts Of Child Sexual Assault
According to the Racine County Sheriff's Office, the young victim was sexually assaulted by a "family acquaintance."
RACINE COUNTY, WI — A Racine County man is behind bars following child sexual assault charges file against him, deputies announced Monday.
According to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a complaint that they received Sunday of a sexual assault of a child occurring in Waterford.
Deputies said they eventually learned that the child, who is in their teen, was sexually assaulted by a family acquaintance at that family’s home. The victim identified the suspect as Clinton Lester Werlein II, 30.

Racine County Sheriff’s Office investigators said they served a search warrant at the suspect’s residence. Werlein was taken into custody and numerous items were collected as evidence.
Deputies said digital evidence was obtained between the victim and Werlein corroborating the victim’s statements.

When questioned, deputies said Werlein admitted to providing the victim with marijuana and alcohol. Werlein was transported to the Racine County jail.
He is facing the following charges:
- 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of Child (10 counts)
- Child Enticement (2 counts)
- False Imprisonment
- Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor
