Racine School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Racine is September 5. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Racine Unified School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/30: Elementary School/K-8’s Open House

September

• 9/5: First Day of School
• 9/26: Middle School Open House

October

• 10/10: High School Open House
• 10/26 - 10/27: No School for Students (Staff Development)

November

• 11/2: Grades 4K-5 No School for Students (Parent-Teacher Conferences), Grades 6-12 Early Release
• 11/3: Grades 4K-12 No School for Students (Parent-Teacher Conferences)
• 11/10: End of First Quarter
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/22 - 1/2: No School (Holiday Recess)

January

• 1/1 - 1/2: No School (Holiday Recess)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
• 1/26: End of First Semester

February

• 2/19: No School (Winter Break, Contingent School Day)

March

• 3/28: Grades 4K-5 No School for Students (Parent-Teacher Conferences), Grades 6-12 Early Release
• 3/29: Grades 4K-12 No School for Students (Parent-Teacher Conferences), End of Third Quarter
• 3/30 - 4/6: No School (Spring Recess)

April

• 4/2 - 4/6: No School (Spring Recess)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/12: Last Day of School
• 6/13: Records Day, Contingent School Day
